Our topic for this term will include all aspects of African life. The children will have the oppotunity to taste some traditional African food and design their own menu.
This term we will be focussing on developing the children’s knowledge of phonemes and graphemes in Phonics, blending, segmenting, reading and writing of these to make sentences.
In Mathematics we will be stretching knowlege of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, understanding how to order numbers up to 30.
In English our focus is constructing whole sentences. The children will be using drama to re-enact parts of stories and writing, taking on the role of characters.

Parents and carers can support their children’s learning at home through reading with them every day, helping them to develop their writing skills and by practicing counting and recognising numbers when out and about in the community. To promote physical development and wellness, challenge your child to take part in an outdoor activity such as star jumps, skipping rope or cycling, in your local green space. If you would like to discuss more about how you can help your child at home, please see your child’s class teacher.
